GERMANY IFO BUSINESS CLIMATE
MONDAY 8AM

CESifo Group will announce April business climate data. The ifo business climate index rose to 96.6 points in March, up from 92.7 in February.

BOJ INTEREST RATE DECISION
TUESDAY 3AM

Bank of Japan (BoJ) will announce its new interest rate decision. The Bank kept the short-term interest rate at 0.1% in the previous Monetary Policy Meeting (MPC).

U.S. CONSUMER CONFIDENCE
TUESDAY 2PM

The Conference Board will announce he April consumer confidence data. Consumer confidence jumped 19.3 points to a reading of 109.7 in March.

FED INTEREST RATE DECISION
WEDNESDAY 6PM

The U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) will announce its new interest rate decision. The bank kept the benchmark policy rate unchanged at 0.25% in the previous MPC meeting.

EUROZONE CONSUMER CONFIDENCE
THURSDAY 9AM

The European Commission will announce April consumer confidence data. Consumer confidence in the Eurozone rose 4 points to -10.8 in March.

REAL SECTOR CONFIDENCE INDEX

The Central Bank will announce April real sector confidence index data. Real sector confidence stood at 110.8 in March.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES
WEDNESDAY 10AM

The Central Bank will announce foreign exchange reserves data. The Bank’s foreign exchange reserves decreased by 0.4% to USD 95.3bn in February.

ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE INDEX
THURSDAY 10AM

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce the April economic confidence index. Economic confidence increased by 3.3% to 98.9 in March.

FOREIGN TRADE STATISTICS
FRIDAY 10AM

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce March foreign trade statistics. Foreign trade volume increased by 13.7% to USD 30.8bn while the foreign trade deficit rose by 8.7% to UDS 3.2bn in February.

ECO-POLITICS

AKP CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

Justice and Development Party (AKP) Central Executive Board members are expected to gather on Monday with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

CABINET MEETING

Cabinet members will gather this week to discuss the latest outlook in the fight against the pandemic. The cabinet will discuss the suggestions of the Scientific Advisory Board. The cabinet members are expected to decide whether to issue a full lockdown during the Ramadan holiday.
