Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the industrial production data for June. While industrial production increased slightly in July compared to the previous month, it continued to decline on an annual basis.
According to TurkStat’s statement, industrial production increased by 0.4 percent month over month and decreased by 3.9 percent year over year.
When the sub-sectors of industry (with the reference year 2021 = 100) are analyzed, in July 2024, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 3.3 percent, the manufacturing industry sector index decreased by 5.1 percent and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index increased by 8.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
Analyzing the subsectors of industry, in July 2024, the index for the mining and quarrying sector increased by 2.1 percent, the index for the manufacturing industry sector increased by 0.5 percent, and the index for the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector decreased by 1.9 percent compared to the previous month.
