CREDIT DEBTS OF TRADESPEOPLE WILL BE POSTPONED
Debts of tradespeople and craftspeople, whose businesses have suffered due to the COVID-19, stemming from low interest loans secured from Halkbank through the Central Union of Associations of Credit and Guarantee Cooperatives for Craftsmen and Artisans of Turkey (TESKOMB) will be postponed, according to a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette and cming into force as of January 1, 2021. In accordance with the relevant decrees, the portion of the installment/principal debts and interest to accrue in the postponement period on tradespeople and craftspeople and the banking and insurance transaction tax relative to this amount will be added equally to the remaining installments. In exchange, tradespeople and craftspeople whose loans have been postponed as part of the decision will be required to abstain from reducing the number of employees in the postponement period.
ENERGY TENDERS IN ESKISEHIR AND KONYA
Construction of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electric networks in Eskisehir and Konya will be given out by contract. HV-LV electricity network construction projects will be put on tender with the closed envelope method. The unit price will be used as a base, which will be valid for each project and discounts for the whole work will be issued. The cost of the tender in Eskisehir has been determined as TRY 12.1m and the tender guarantee amount has been announced as TRY 364,443. The estimated cost of the tender in Konya has been determined as TRY 3m and the tender guarantee amount has been announced as TRY 90,207. The Eskisehir tender will be held on February 22 at 10am and the Konya tender will be held on February 26 at 10am in the Ministry of Industry and Technology ’s new service building located in Ankara.
COMPOST FACILITY AUCTION FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF ELAZIG
The Municipality of Elazig is building a mechanical sorting and compost facility in the Coteli village area of the central district in exchange for 15-year management rights. The expected value of the contract is TRY 3.2m, excluding VAT. The auction will be carried out in the assembly hall of the Elazig municipality building on January 9, 2021 at 10:30am.
TURKEY TO CONTRIBUTE TO AZERBAIJAN’S GREEN PROJECTS
The final decision on the Contribution Agreement signed between Turkey and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on November 10, 2020 has been published in the Official Gazette. The Contribution Agreement between Turkey and EBRD on Turkey joining the
Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership covers the contribution of Turkey in the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Regional Fund. The contributor position is represented by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Turkey will contribute EUR 600,000 to the fund to be used in Azerbaijan’s environmental projects.
ELAZIG MUNICIPALITY TO BUILD GROUND̞ MOUNTED SOLAR PLANT
Elazig municipality is building a groundmounted solar power plant in the Muru (Yunluce) area of Akpinar region in exchange for 10-year management, maintenance and service rights. The contract for the management rights of the plant will be granted through closed bid auction and is worth TRY 3.2m. The bidding will be carried out in the assembly hall of Elazig municipality building on January 9, 2021 at 10am.
VAT REFUND WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SERVICES EXPORTS IN TRY
The portion of value-added tax (VAT) refunds stemming from the services exports exemption can be brought from abroad in Turkish lira. The related communiqué of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. Services exporters which bill in TRY will be able to revieve a VAT refund as long as they prove that the amount was taken in TRY.
