THE NUMBER OF INVESTMENT INCENTIVE CERTIFICATES REACHED 1181 IN DECEMBER

The investment incentive certificate list of the Ministry of Industry and Technology for the December 2020 period has been published in the Official Gazette. A total of TRY 28.1bn fixed investment will be made with the certified projects. The investments are expected to employ 29,361 people and USD 1.8bn in machinery and equipment will be imported. The total number of investment incentive certificates issued in 2020 reached 10,586 with a projected fixed investment amount of TRY 211.9 bn and expected employment of 311,406 people.

The certified investments include:

> New investment of TRY 4.2bn by Maxicells Ilac Sanayi A.S. in Istanbul for the production of chemical and herbal products used in pharmacy and medicine,

> Electricity distribution company Dicle Elektrik’s TRY 1.4bn extension investment in various provinces

> Park Cam’s expansion and modernization investment of TRY 1.1bn for the production of glass and glass products in Bilecik

> Expansion investment in the container handling facility of Newport Liman Isletmeleri and Ozel Antrepo Nakliyat for TRY 1.6bn in Izmir.

> New investment for general public services of Tosyali’s Filyos Industrial Zone in Zonguldak worth a total of TRY 631.8m

> Mav Elyaf ’s TRY 600m extension investment for non-woven fabric manufacturing in Tekirdag

> Qua Granite’s extension investment of TRY 584m for the production of ceramic floor tiles in Aydın.

ANTIDUMPING DECISION FOR SYNTHETIC FILAMENT YARN̞ WOVEN FABRIC

The communiqué on the prevention of unfair competition in imports, which includes the anti-dumping decision of the Ministry of Commerce for the synthetic filament yarn-woven fabric, entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, a 13.91% and 30.84% cost-insurance-freight (CIS) measure will be applied for products originating from China; 14.64%, 38.61% and 40% for South Korean products; 8.67%, 22.07 %, 28.96% and 30.93% for Thai origin products.

LAND LEASE TENDER FOR 30 YEARS FROM ISTANBUL FOUNDATIONS

The Zone 1 Directorate of Foundations in Istanbul of the Ministry and Culture will lease a private education facility with an area of 27,206 square meters in the Tarabya district of Sariyer for 30 years with a closed bidding method. The project and construction period of the land will be 5 years, and the usage-operation period will be 25 years, according to the directorate’s announcement published in the Official Gazette. The estimated value of the land, which is TRY 137m with the rental price determined during the construction period (5 years), will be leased for TRY 100,000 per month after the delivery of the site. Starting from the 6th year, the rental price will increase to TRY 4.4m and starting from the 7th year, this rental fee will be increased based on the average change in the CPI for twelve months every year. The tender will be held at the directorate’s building on February 18, 2021 at 14:00.

GEOTHERMAL AREA ON TENDER IN MERSIN

A geothermal resource operating licensed area in Mersin has been put on tender. The announcement of the Investment Monitoring Coordination Presidency of Mersin Governorship was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the geothermal resource operating licensed field with an area of 1,075 hectares in Akdeniz district of Mersin has been put on tender with an open bidding method. The tender price was determined as TRY 43,862. The tender will be held on February 15 at 2:30pm in the meeting hall of Mersin Governorship’s Service Building.

31 IMMOVABLES IN 15 PROVINCES ON SALE BY PA

31 immovables located on Denizli, Yalova, Afyonkarahisar, Tokat, Samsun, Ankara, Mugla, Erzincan, Gumushane, Erzurum, Kahramanmaras, Mus, Nevsehir, Sivas and Yozgat have been put on tender by the Privatization Administration (PA) for an estimated price of TRY 6.92m. The Immovables will be sold using the negotiation method by receiving tender with closed envelope from more than one bidder and by negotiating. The tender will be concluded in March by auction with the participation of bidders continuing negotiations, according to the announcement of PA published In the Official Gazette.
