In Turkey, house sales increased by 16.0 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year and stood at 127,088. According to TurkStat house sales data, this is the highest number since the start of the year. Mortgaged house sales on the other hand declined by more than 50 percent since the start of the year.
The provinces with the highest number of house sales were Istanbul with 19,047, Ankara with 11,364 and Antalya with 6,659, while the provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 61, Hakkari with 64 and Bayburt with 77.
In the January-July period, house sales decreased by 0.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and realized as 672,162.
Mortgaged house sales in Turkey decreased by 20.9 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 11,496. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was realized as 9.0 percent. In the January-July period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 53.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and became 62,911.
