GETIR BECOMES ‘UNICORN’ WITH USD 2.6BN VALUE

The on-demand fast grocery delivery service Getir reached a valuation of USD 2.6bn with a USD 300m investment and became a unicorn, exceeding USD 1bn value, according to Nazim Salur, Founder of Getir. Getir was established 5 years ago. The startup has raised USD 128m in a founding round led by Base Partners of Brazil and Crankstart Investments of Michael Moritz as well as Tiger Global, Goodwater Capital, Revo, Esas and Fiba Holdings. Getir used this investment for international expansion, openin in London, and also starting to lay the groundwork for Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. The 10-minute delivery app currently in 10 cities in Turkey, including Istanbul, Izmir and the capital Ankara with over 1,500 products.
