The electric and railway vehicles manufacturer Bozankaya has exported its new generation trams to Romania, according to a statement from the company. “The project will create EUR 115m added value for the country in total,” Aytunc Gunay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bozankaya, said in a statement. The company manufactured 37 trams for Timisoara and Iasi provinces within as part of Romania’s EU-supported public transportation project. Trams, which use electrical power from the network, also have a battery system enabling them travel 63 kilometers without being connected to the network, the world’s longest distance with a battery system. The trams has capacity of 200-people with a total length of 30 meters.
