Yurtici Kargo says it will complete its automation projects in 2020-2021 with investments topping TRY 400m, according to Fatih Onyol, the logistics company’s CEO. The automated transfer center, with the capacity to separate tens of thousands of cargo packages within hours, will be located in Istanbul and is expected to close a large gap in the sector. Yurtici Kargo raised the total number of employees to 18,000 after hiring 2,500 people last year during the pandemic. The company also launched a new unit model called ‘Direct Distribution Points’. This model focuses on distributions and reduces the workload both in branches and agencies while providing a significant recovery in the number of cargo per employee.
