CHINA TRADE BALANCE
MONDAY

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China will announce May trade balance data. China’s total trade surplus stood at USD 42.85 billion in April, compared with USD 13.8 billion in March.

EU ZEW ECONOMIC SENTIMENT SURVEY
TUESDAY 12PM

The Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) will announce June economic sentiment survey results. ZEW Economic confidence in the EU jumped to 84 points in May, up from 66.3 points in April.

ECB INTEREST RATE DECISION
THURSDAY 2:45PM

The European Central Bank (ECB) will announce its new interest rate decision. The bank decided to hold rates unchanged at 0% in the previous meeting.

U.S. CONSUMER PRICE INDEX
THURSDAY 3:30PM

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will announce the May monthly consumer price index (CPI) change. Monthly inflation in the U.S. rose to 0.8% in April.

UK INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
FRIDAY 9AM

UK National Statistics will announce April industrial production data. Industrial output increased by 1.8% month-on-month in March, recording the strongest increase since July 2020.

DOMESTIC DATA

THE RATES OF REAL PROFITS CREATED BY MEANS OF FINANCIAL INVESTMENT
TUESDAY 10AM

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce the May rates of real profits created by means of financial investment. Gold yielded the highest monthly profit by 3.89% in terms of producer price index and 6.61% by consumer price index.

EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS
THURSDAY 10AM

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce April employment statistics. The number of unemployed people rose by 59,000 to 4.236m people in March while the unemployment rate fell by 0.1 points to 13.1%.

INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION INDEX
FRIDAY 10AM

The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce the April industrial production index. Seasonally-adjusted industrial production increased by 16.6% in March annually and by 0.7% compared to the previous month.

SURVEY OF EXPECTATIONS
FRIDAY 2PM

Central Bank will announce the June survey of expectations results. In May, the year-end inflation expectation stood at 13.81%.

ECO-POLITICS

CHP CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

Republican People’s Party (CHP) Central Executive Board members are expected to gather on Monday with the participation of the party’s president Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

AKP MEETING

The members of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) are expected to gather on Wednesday with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

PARLIAMENTARY SESSION

The bill amending the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law will be on the agenda of the General Assembly this week. The proposal displays regulations including allowing the concordat institution to be more functional, carrying out bankruptcy liquidation more effectively, increasing the qualifications of bankruptcy administrative officers and introducing an appointment, training and inspection system for them and computation of compensation within the scope of motor vehicle compulsory liability insurance.
