U.S. COMPOSITE PMI
MONDAY 1:45PM

Markit Economics will announce the March composite purchasing managers’ index (PMI) data. The composite PMI rose to 58.8 in February in the U.S., the highest of the last 71 months.

EU UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
TUESDAY 9AM

Eurostat will announce February unemployment data. Unemployment in the Eurozone hit 8.1% in January.

JAPAN CONSUMER CONFIDENCE
THURSDAY 5AM

Japan’s Cabinet Office will announce March consumer confidence index data. Consumer confidence in Japan increased to 33.8 in February, up from 29.6 in January.

CHINA CPI
FRIDAY 1:30AM

The National Bureau of Statistics of China will announce the March consumer price index (CPI) data. Consumer prices increased by 0.6% in February compared to the previous month, while annual inflation stood at 1.6%.

GERMANY EXPORTS AND IMPORTS
FRIDAY 6AM

The Federal Statistical Office of Germany will announce February exports and imports data. Seasonally-adjusted exports increased by 1.4% in January, while imports declined by 4.7%

DOMESTIC DATA

CPI
MONDAY 10AM

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce the March consumer price index (CPI) data. Consumer prices increased by 0.91% in February, while the annual inflation became 15.61.

DOMESTIC PPI
MONDAY 10AM

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce March domestic producer price index (PPI) data. Domestic producer prices increased by 1.22% in February compared to January and by 27.09 on an annual basis.

SURVEY OF EXPECTATIONS
FRIDAY 10AM

The Central Bank will announce the results of April survey of expectations. The forecast for the year-end annual consumer price inflation rose to 11.54% in March from 11.23% a month ago.

CHP CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETINGS

The Republican People’s Party (CHP) Central Executive Board members are expected to gather on Monday

EU MEETINGS

Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, will visit Turkey on April 6. Michel and von der Leyen are expected to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In a statement during the EU Leaders Summit, Michel said they hoped to improve the relationship between Turkey and the EU. “The Customs Union, travel and migration are areas we can work on,” he said.

AKP CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

On April 8, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold the first AKP central executive board meeting , following the AKP congress.
