The unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 points to 9.2% in August, month-over-month, the lowest level since January 2014, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over fell by 56,000 to 3.22 million in the same period.
The employment rate remained unchanged at 48.4 in August when the number of employed people rose by 1,000 to 31.68 million monthly.
The labor force participation rate dropped by 0.1 points to 53.3% in August compared to the previous month.
Some 34.9 million people made up the labor force in August, down 55,000 from a month ago.
The decrease in the unemployment rate mainly stemmed from the decline in the labor force participation rate.
