According to Household Labour Force Survey made by Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) Turkey’s unemployment rate decreased by 0.1 points in April compared to the previous month and declined to 8.5 percent. It was estimated 7.2% for men and 11.1% for women.
In this period, the number of unemployed was recorded as 3 million 42 thousand people.
Employment rate down to 49,5%
The number of employed persons decreased by one thousand to 32 million 618 thousand in April 2024 compared to the previous month. The employment rate occurred as 49.5% with a 0.1 percentage point decline. In addition, this rate was 66.9% for men, 32.5% for women.
