The unemployment rate dropped by 1.1 points to 12.0% in 2021, compared to the previous year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over declined by 121,000 to 3.91 million in the same period.
The employment rate surged by 2.5 percentage points to 45.2%, or 28.79 million, in this period.
The composite measure of labor underutilization, consisting of time-dependent underemployment, potential labor force, and unemployment data, dropped by 1.0 points to 24.4% in 2021 year-over-year.
The combined rate of time-related underemployment and unemployment reached 16.8%, while the combined rate of the potential labor force and unemployment stood at 20.0% in the same period.
