Commercial and military aircraft engines and critical parts manufacturer TUSAS Engine Industries Incorporation (TEI) has acquired a nearly 50% share in the special metal producer Varzene Metal. If the agreement is completed, TEI will put its signature on its second partnership in the metal industry. The company acquired a 51% share of Gur Metal in 2018. Varzene Metal manufactures tool steel, duplex steel, high speed steel, and cobalt alloys at its production plant located on an area of 20,000 square meters in Aliaga Izmir. The company, which also produces special metals used in the aviation and chemical industries, such as titanium, nickel alloys, special stainless steel, produces for the defense, medical, maritime, and automotive sectors. TEI employs over 2,500 people and reached an export volume of USD 344m in 2019.
