The MEE Business Partnership, formed by MIA Technology, E4E Electronic Engineering and ETES Technological Systems, has won NATO’s tender worth 36 million Euros. Stating that the contract was signed on July 25, Ali Gökhan Beltekin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MIA Technology, said that the system is a technology that supports the exchange of information between the air early warning system and naval forces. Greece, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will use the technology, which is known as the Ship Shore Ship Battle (SSSB) system.
The executives of MEE Business Partnership, which won the tender, held an information meeting in Ankara for the defense industry sector and members of the press.
Speaking at the meeting, Ali Gökhan Beltekin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MİA Technology, said that this was the largest single tender won by a Turkish company in NATO tenders. Stating that the preliminary preparation, participation and evaluation process of the tender took 22 months, Beltekin noted that they had succeeded in outperforming their very strong competitors.
Stating that the contract was signed on July 25 at NATO facilities in The Hague in the Netherlands, Ali Gökhan Beltekin said that the SSSB is a system that supports the exchange of information between the air early warning system and naval forces. Stating that winning this tender is not only a success of the MEE business partnership, but also of the Turkish defense industry, Beltekin said that the project will last for five years and that the system will be used in 22 locations in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Greece.
“We will also participate in other NATO project tenders”
In the statement made by MIA Technology, it was stated that the company will reflect its competencies in the health, security, artificial intelligence and IoT sectors to the defense industry and communication sectors with this project. In the statement, it was underlined that it is also planned to participate in the SSSB project tenders to be opened for NATO’s new member countries and other countries. “As members of the MEE Business Partnership, we, as members of the MEE Business Partnership, wish to reflect the knowledge and experience we have gained through this project in three critical NATO member countries, especially to the SSSB project in Turkey, our own country” the statement said.
