MAPIC, the world’s largest real estate and retail fair held last week in Cannes, France, was marked by “Turkish Brands”.
Turkey’s garment manufacturers will lead the way for brands from all sectors to appear at MAPIC, the world’s largest real estate and retail gathering starting from next year.
With the organization of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), only ready-to-wear brands have been taking part in the “Turkish Brands” stand until today. The goal is to bring a wide range of products from white goods to food, from home textiles to cosmetics to the world’s largest gathering MAPIC with the organization of İHKİB under the auspices of Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) starting next year.
Last week, 1,800 companies and 6,000 exhibitors from 75 countries took part in MAPIC 2023, which brought together the global real estate and retail sector in Cannes, France.
Turkey hosted the opening ceremony and the main theme of the fair was “The Age of Responsible Growth: Committing to a Better Future”.
Nejdet Ayaydin and Hilal Suerdem, members of the board of directors of the association leading the İHKİB delegation, explain that they brought 16 brands to the Turkish Brands stand.
Nejdet Ayaydın is also a Board Member of Ipekyol Group. He reminds that they first participated in the fair 12 years ago and says, “We ensure that our branded values meet with the world’s shopping malls here. However, we thought, why limit ourselves to ready-to-wear clothing. As İHKİB, we have a significant experience here. Now we will open it to all Turkish stores in shopping malls.”
Ac&Co, Armine, Boris Becker, Chamay, Damat Tween, Gagawa, İpekyol, Jakamen, Jimmy Key, Kiğılı, Madame Coco, NaraMaxx, Nebim, Nefeli, Penti and Perspective participated in the fair organized on 28-30 November 2023 under the roof of Turkish Brands within the leadership of İHKİB. Kıyı İstanbul, Atış Yapı and Hupa Lupa also opened their own stands at the fair.
