Consumer prices in the OECD area reached 9.2% year-on-year in April, up from 8.8% compared to the previous month, according to a statement from the OECD.
Nine OECD countries recorded double-digit inflation rates, with the highest rates experienced in Turkey and Estonia.
Annual inflation hit 69.97% in Turkey, while it reached 18.8% in Estonia in April.
Contrary to Turkey and Estonia, inflation fell in five OECD countries, including Italy, Spain, and the U.S.
Excluding food and energy, annual inflation hit 6.3% in April.
Food inflation in the OECD was up from 10.0% to 11.5% month-over-month in April.
Annual services prices, meanwhile, rose from 3.9% to 4.4% during the same period.
