The telecommunication company Turk Telekom will launch its second office with a 100% subsidiary called Turk Telekom Ventures in Silicon Valley at the end of March, according to Umit Onal, CEO of Turk Telekom.
Turk Telekom will introduce ventures in Silicon Valley and help them to find new investments at this office.
The company aims to support entrepreneurs, especially those that operate in the telecommunication and energy sectors.
“We aim to create unicorns from Turkey with a potential to carry their success to the global arena. We’ll continue to expand the ecosystem and discover new ventures this year,” said Onal.
Turk Telekom launched its first office in Silicon Valley with its subsidiary Argela in 2008.
The company will also establish a finance and payment systems company soon to provide loans. “The finance and payment systems are naturally followed by e-commerce. We need to research effectively at the first stage. We are not hurrying the launch,” said Onal.
Net profit of the company amounted to TRY 5.8bn in 2021, while it plans to make TRY 12.5bn investment this year.
