The Italy-based Prysmian Group’s Turkey operation, Turk Prysmian Kablo, is redirecting its cable production towards renewable energy, according to Ulku Ozcan, CEO of Turk Prysmian. “We support solar energy projects with our solar, low and medium voltage, optical fiber and data cables. We also manufacture specially designed cables used in towers and infrastructure cables for wind energy,” said Ozcan. Turk Prysmian Kablo has been operating in the energy and telecommunication cable sectors since 1964. “We manage Prysmian Group’s Turkey operation. Prysmian Group has 104 production plants and 25 R&D centers in more than 50 countries,” said Ozcan. Turk Prysmian Kablo manufactures 22,000 different cables at its Mudanya production plant. The company’s turnover rose by 23% to TRY 1.8m in 2020, compared to the previous year, while its exports share in turnover reached 37% in this period.
