The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) has launched the Sustainability Action Plan prepared by the TIM Women’s Council. The 12-item plan will make the country a sustainability brand as well as help achieve the goal of becoming ‘Sustainable Turkey in all fields’, according to Ismail Gulle, Chairman of TIM. “As exporters we had two tasks. First was to anchor our exports on sustainable ground. Our goal now is to produce a foreign trade surplus,” said Gulle. In order to reach export goals, works will continue towards strengthening the ‘Made in Turkey’ brand and leaving a better Turkey for the next generation. “‘Sustainability’ and ‘climate’ sub-working committees have been established for the first time in TIM’s history,” said Gulle. TIM previously organized the ‘TIM European Green Deal Awareness’ meetings in three main streams including energy-intensive, resource-intensive and the agriculture sector.
