The 3D printer filament manufacturer Porima has started exporting its outputs to the U.S., according to Serhat Oran, Founding Partner and CEO of Porima. A joint venture of Serhat Oran and Kadri Karadeniz, the company was established with the support of acrylic fiber manufacturer Aksa Akrilik and Istanbul Technical University’s (ITU) R&D center ITU ARI Teknokent in 2018. Porima manufactures 3D printer filament and makes thermoplastic material exports to the U.S. “Our company grew 7-fold in 2020. We are preparing to penetrate into the European and Middle Eastern markets in the near future,” said Oran. Aksa Akrilik provides financial and mentorship support for young entrepreneurs with their ‘Value for Entrepreneurship’ project, according to Cengiz Tas, General Manager and Member of the Board of Aksa Akrilik. “We’ve made our first investment in Porima which has started the domestic cartridge era,” said Tas.
