Turkish glass producer Cagdas Cam and the Italy-based glass processing company Ilva Group are partnering up for a EUR 20m investment to set up a joint production plant in Kuyucak, Aydin. The production facility will start to manufacture glass sometime in August or September for ovens, cookers and cooker hoods. “This collaboration is the first partnership formed with foreigners in the glass processing industry,” said Serdar Rasit Pirinc, CEO of Cagdas Cam AS. Work on the production plant, located in Nazilli Organized Industrial Zone, began in 2020 and will be fully functional in three phases. The first phase will be completed by late summer this year . The facility will be an international business using advanced glass processing technology. 120 people will be employed in the first phase, rising to total of 250 at the end of the third stage.
