Kazanci Holding’s energy subsidiary Aksa Enerji signed a 25-year agreement with National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (NEGU), which is the subsidiary of the Uzbek Energy Ministry, on a dollar basis to build a natural gas combined cycle power plant (CCPP) with an installed power of 430 megawatts (MW) in Tallimarjon.
The company, which has generated commercial power with three power plants in Tashkent and Bukhara with a total installed power of 740 MW since the first quarter of 2022, will raise its installed capacity to 1,170 MW with the new CCPP.
“We plan to complete the Tallimarjon Natural Gas CCPP in 12 months following the finalization of necessary approvals,” said Cemil Kazanci, Chairman and CEO of Aksa Enerji.
The Uzbek government will meet the natural gas for power generation at the CCPP.
