Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the results of the industrial production index for November. Industrial production decreased by 1.4 percent on a monthly basis and increased by 0.2 percent on an annual basis in November. Thus, industrial production has been contracting for 5 months. Market expectations were for a monthly increase of 0.1 percent and an annual increase of 2.6 percent.
When the subsectors of the industry (based on 2015=100) were examined, mining and quarrying index increased by 3.5%, manufacturing index increased by 0.1% and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 4.5% in November 2023, compared with same month of previous year.
Mining and quarrying index decreased by 4.5%, manufacturing index decreased by 1.3% and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index decreased by 1.0% in November 2023, compared with previous month.
