Yildiz Holding has finalized an agreement to sell its 50% share in the starch company PNS Pendik Nisasta to Alpinvest, a subsidiary of the pasta company Oba Makarna. According to a joint statement made by the two parties, these shares were transferred to Alpinvest upon the completion of all legal procedures. “We’ll simplify our portfolio according to our business strategy, which focuses on our main areas of business, snacks and retail,” said Mehmet Tutuncu, CEO of Yildiz Holding. The holding will use the profits from the sale to develop these primary business areas. Pendik Nisasta was founded in 1993 in partnership with Cerestar and Ulker. It became operational in 1996.
