Yapi Kredi has been granted the ‘CDP Turkey Water Leadership’ award during the 11th Climate Change Virtual Conference, receiving an A- (Leadership) grade from the Water Programme with reporting made to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the global environmental reporting platform. Thus, the bank obtained the highest grade in the country’s finance sector. “Sustainable economic and business models can be achieved only if we ensure social and environmental sustainability,” said Nurgun Eyuboglu, Assistant General Manager of Yapi Kredi. Efficiency and security of natural resources are one of the priorities of the bank, according to Eyuboglu. Yapi Kredi will continue to adopt business processes, develop projects and support their financing for a sustainable future. The bank issued its first green bond for financing of green projects and offered eco-friendly mortgage products to costumers last year. The bank also carried out water harvest implementation by collecting rainwater in 2019. “We prevented 156,813 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions with the use of recycled waste based on our waste recycle project in 2020,” said Eyuboglu.
