The tobacco group Philip Morris raised cigarette prices, while the October inflation may increase by 50 to 70 basis points when other producers join the price hike wave, according to the economy world. “If prices are hiked in all segments of tobacco, it may affect the October inflation by 0.5-0.7% in total. October is advantageous in terms of base effect, but, expected price increases such as energy and fuel, may adversely affect this 2% inflation advantage. The negative impact of foreign exchange rates may also be seen in October. The basis effect advantage of the October inflation will become clear in line with realizations in the month,” a source told Reuters. The annual inflation saw 19.58% in September.

The worldwide access problem to WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook was experienced due to shortages started towards evening yesterday continued for seven hours. The social media platforms started to give service at 1.00 am local time in Turkey, while Facebook shares saw over 5% loss.  

Turkey’s e-Devlet (e-Government) denied the allegations about the leakage towards the country’s data infrastructure. The data which constituted the basis for allegations were obtained from phishing and evil ware attacks towards few individual accounts.

The legislative proposal on Tax Procedure Law and Amendment of Some Laws will be discussed at the Parliament’s Planning and Budget Commission.
