The Central Bank Governor Sahap Kavcioglu will hold an online meeting with analysts and investors today in line with the bank’s annual plan. Kavcioglu is expected to make a presentation and answer to the questions of market specialists. Analysts will try to receive messages about the monetary policy for the next period.
The Parliament ratified the Paris Climate Agreement to contribute to the global efforts against climate change. All political parties in the parliament gave yes vote to the agreement.
The Presidency submitted a motion to the parliament calling for extending the deployment of Turkish troops to the Central African Republic (CAR) and Mali as part of the peacekeeping missions.
The legislative proposal on Tax Procedure Law and Amendment of Some Laws was approved by the Parliament’s Planning and Budget Commission. As part of the proposal, 15% of withholding will have to be paid for incomes to be earned from the social media and below TRY 650,000. If income surpasses TRY 650,000 it will have to be declared. Nearly 20,000 people generated income from social media platforms in 2020, according to the impact analysis submitted by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance to the Commission.
