Akkim Chemicals, a subsidiary of Akkok Holding, has acquired USK Chemicals, a carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) producer operating in Aydin, for USD 63m. The Competition Board is expected to approve the acquisition by the end of February. USK Chemicals, established in 2001, exports 80% of its annual output of 40,000 tonnes. With the latest investment, the total value of Akkim Chemicals’ acquisitions in the last 6 years has reached USD 200m.
