The investment services and asset management company UNLU & Co has won three awards at the European Banking Awards 2021, organized by the U.K.-based capital markets and banking magazine EMEA Finance.
“We have created a value of over USD 20bn for the Turkish economy over the past 26 years with our mergers and acquisitions (M&A), equity, and debt instrument placement transactions,” said Mahmut L. Unlu, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of UNLU & Co.
The company received awards in three different categories: “Best M&A House-Turkey” for the second consecutive year; “Best Investment Bank-Turkey”; and “Financial Inclusion-CEE&CIS”.
The firm, which also operates in corporate finance and advisory services, executed M&A transactions such as the sale of Assan Foods to Kraft Heinz, Tepe Security to Securitas and Ekol Ofset to Romvan NV. It also assisted Pegasus Airlines with its first issuance in the debt capital markets. It became the market maker for warrants issued by Goldman Sachs in Turkey as of 2021.
“With the warrants, for which we act as a market maker within the frame of our collaboration with Goldman Sachs, we present global know-how to local investors,” Unlu added.
