The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped by 0.5 points to 11.2% in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021, compared to the previous quarter, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over declined by 78,000 to 3.78 million in the same period.
The non-agricultural unemployment rate decreased by 0.6% to 13.0% in Q4 2021, as compared to Q3 2021.
The seasonally-adjusted employment rate surged by 1.0 percentage point to 46.7%, or 29.92 million, in the same period.
The labor force participation rate stood at 52.6%, increased by 0.8 percentage points from Q3 2021. Some 33.7 million people made up the labor force in Q4, an increase of 661,000 workers as compared to the previous quarter.
The unemployment rate was down by 1.9 points to 11.0% in Q4 2021, as compared to Q4 2020. The employment rate, meanwhile, rose by 3.9 points to 46.5% in the same period.
