Turkey Statistical Institute (TurkStat) was reported to abolish its advisory boards, which were established during the short term of the previous president consisting of economists and experts.
The board members were informed about the abolition of the members, according to three sources who spoke to Bloomberg HT. One of the sources said that there will be an evaluation on whether to reactivate the boards in 2022.
TurkStat did not answer questions on the subject. The institute had decided to establish these advisory boards for the improvement of transparency and data during the term of Ahmet Kursad Dosdogru, who served as acting chairman for less than two weeks before Sait Erdal Dincer was appointed with a presidential decree on March 2.
