Turkey was one of the top four states with the highest employment increase in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) area in the last quarter of 2021 (Q4), according to a statement from the institution.
The employment rate among people aged 15-64 surged by over 1.0% from 47.9 to 51.8% in Turkey in Q4 2021, as compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The rate was also up from 50.5% quarterly.
Chile, Iceland, and Israel were the three other OECD states with the highest employment increase.
The employment rate in the OECD area, meanwhile, rose from 68.2% to 68.7% in Q4 2021, as compared to Q3 2021.
The figure was 0.2 percentage points below the rate recorded in Q4 2019.
The labor force participation rate reached 72.8% in the OECD area, close to the pre-pandemic level in Q4 2019.
