Turkish online shopping platform Trendyol, which makes its sellers in Turkey e-exporters with a single click, is opening to the Eastern European market in the new year. The company will increase the number of countries in the coming period in the market, starting with Romania, Greece, Hungary and the Czech Republic, and aims to reach a trade volume of USD 350 million by the end of 2024. It is expected that there will be great interest in Turkish products in the region where Turkish TV series break ratings records.
Speaking at the InMerge Innovation Summit, the most important innovation event of the region, held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, Erdem İnan, CEO of Trendyol Group, evaluated new investments with the press members. Noting that they aim to complete all international operations with approximately 3 million customers and 12 million orders this year, İnan said, “Our goal is to make all of our 300 thousand micro-export sellers able to sell to the region covering a population of 500 million.”
Emphasizing that one third of new exporters in Turkey are Trendyol sellers, İnan explained their strategy for the Eastern European market, which they will open as of the first quarter of 2024, as follows: We will start with Romania, Greece, Hungary and the Czech Republic. After reaching a certain maturity in priority countries, we plan to enter the markets of Poland, Slovakia and Bulgaria. By the end of 2024, we aim to reach 2 million active customers and over 4 million orders in this region. We expect to reach a trade volume of USD 350 million.”
