The “List of the World’s 250 Largest International Contractors”, published annually by the construction industry magazine ENR (Engineering News Record) on the basis of the revenues generated by contractors from their activities outside their countries in the previous year, has been announced.
Turkey maintained its second place in the “World’s 250 Largest International Contractors List” with 43 companies. One Turkish company ranked in the top 50 and six in the top 100.
Erdal Eren, President of the Turkish Contractors Association, said: “Our contractors have given us great pride and joy by exceeding the 500 billion threshold with more than 12 thousand projects in 136 countries abroad in 2023, when we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”
Stating that construction is one of the most competitive sectors in the world, Eren shared the following views: “Despite the war, Russia continued to be our biggest market in 2023. We are working hard to take our place in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. We are also increasing our activities in markets such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria, Poland, Romania, Sub-Saharan African countries. In 2024, we increased the number of countries we do business with to 137, including Portugal.”
