OYAK Group, a holding company that operates in a variety of industries including, mining, automotive, chemicals, and construction sectors will acquire the dried fruit and nuts producer Gold Harvest Kuruyemis.
The holding company will carry out the transaction through its subsidiary, OYAK Portfoy. The firm will enter the dried fruits and nuts sector for the first time once the official procedures are completed.
Founded in 2018, Gold Harvest manufactures at Odunpazari Organized Industrial Zone in Eskisehir on an area of 26,000 square meters. The company, which has an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons, manufactures dried fruits and nuts along with potato chips under its Kara Sevda, Master Nut, Master Farm, and Master Potato brands. Gold Harvest will begin production of coated nuts, brittle, and bar products in the coming days.
OYAK Group, meanwhile, has focused on the food industry over the past five years as part of its transformation and reorganization process. The firm acquired Sagra and Tamek with its subsidiary Hektas in 2021. The group aims to play a role in the country’s chocolate sector with Sagra and aims for foreign sales with Tamek, which already exports various products such as tomato paste, ketchup, and fruit juices to more than 150 countries.
