The number of newly established companies in the country rose by 0.6% year-on-year in the first month of 2022, according to the the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
Some 11,400 companies were launched in January, up from 11,329 in the same month last year.
Among them were almost 1,360 foreign-partnered or foreign-funded companies.
During the month, 2,318 firms went out of business, a figure up 30.9% versus January 2021.
Last year 101,318 companies were launched, while 14,304 firms were liquidated.
