The Antakya Furniture Specialized Industrial Zone (MOBSAN) is projected to create new exports totaling USD 490m to four continents per year, according to Huseyin Dogru, Chairman of the Board of MOBSAN Cooperative. With MOBSAN, Antakya’s furniture exports is expected to rise to USD 500m per year, from USD 70-80m. The target markets will be the Middle East, the U.S., African and Central Asian countries in first stage. MOBSAN was established by the MOBSAN Cooperative with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Manufacturing activities started in MOBSAN in the second half of 2020 and it now boasts an 80% occupancy rate. Established with a TRY 400m investment on an area of 465,000 square meters, MOBSAN will employ 10,000 people. MOBSAN was built with a modular structure in which three stories can be added for production facilities’ growth investments. Sites were established on three different floor area sizes, including 1,500 square meters, 2,225 square meters and 3,000 square meters where 100 companies will operate.
