The Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGİDER), a prominent civil society organization in Turkey dedicated to women’s entrepreneurship and gender equality for the past 21 years, has been selected as the sole Turkish representative to the first Civil Society Steering Committee established by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Following a meticulous selection process among international civil society organizations across all EBRD regions, KAGİDER emerged as the only Turkish organization chosen for this exclusive role. Comprising distinguished civil society organizations with expertise in EBRD’s strategic priorities, the committee aims to strengthen dialogue between the Bank and civil society, fostering collaboration on critical issues.
By joining the Civil Society Steering Committee, KAGİDER will provide recommendations to EBRD on strategic topics such as green and sustainable development, gender equality, digitalization, good governance, and transparency. Additionally, KAGİDER will contribute to the NGO program during EBRD’s regional meetings and events, enhancing the interaction between civil society and the Bank.
As per EBRD’s announcement, committee members are selected from civil society organizations with rich experience in their respective countries. The committee’s term will continue until the end of 2025, guiding collaboration with EBRD on crucial strategic matters.
