The annual inflation rate increased by 15.61% and consumer prices rose by 0.9% in February, higher than expectations with the impact of food prices, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute. Thus, the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) has reached the highest level in the last 19 months. Annual inflation stood at 14.97% in January. The domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by 27.09% annually and 1.22% on a monthly basis in February, reaching its highest level since May 2019. The monthly increase in food prices was 2.57% and its influence on headline consumer inflation totaled 0.67 points. Monthly inflation in fresh fruits and vegetables and unprocessed food reached 5.21% and 1.64%, respectively. Monthly inflation in food reached 2.27% in February.
