The France-based food products firm Danone has begun manufacturing medical nutrition products used in malnutrition treatment at its factory with an investment of over TRY 450m in Luleburgaz.
“Malnutrition affects millions of people from children to adults,” said Industry and Technology Minister Fatih Kacir.
The investment will contribute to closing the current account deficit of Turkey. Danone has operated for around 40 years in Turkey and reached a 75% localization rate.
“We aim to raise our production capacity by 50% and triple our exports in two years,” said Cem Kucukcan, General Manager of Danone Turkey.
The French company operates six manufacturing plants, an R&D center, has over 2,000 employees, and a portfolio of 20 brands and innovative products in Turkey.
A. Burak Daglioglu, President of the Investment Office, and Vikram Agarwal, COO of Danone, also attended the inauguration ceremony.
