According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat), foreign trade balance in December and January-December period was realized as follows:
*Foreign trade deficit narrowed by 37.8% yoy to USD 6.04 billion in December (Leading data: 6.11 billion USD deficit)
*Foreign trade deficit decreased by 3.2% yoy to USD 106 billion in January-December.
*Exports increased by 0.4% to USD 23 billion in December
*Imports fell by 11% to USD 29.04 billion in December
*Energy imports fell by 18.7% to USD 6.65 billion in December
*Energy imports fell by 28.1% to USD 69.44 billion in January-December
In the January-December period of 2023, exports increased by 0.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached USD 255.78 billion, while imports decreased by 0.5 percent to USD 361.77 billion.
