Turkey’s exports rose by 0.3% to USD 22.67bn, and imports fell by 14.1% to USD 27.65 in September, year-over-year, according to the preliminary data by the Trade Ministry and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM).
TIM Chairman Musfata Gultepe said foreign trade by 29 European countries has sharply decreased this year.
Exports dropped by 0.3% to USD 187.46bn, and imports soared 1.3% to USD 274.75bn in January-September.
The foreign trade deficit fell to USD 5bn in September but hit USD 87.3bn in January-September.
Trade Minister Omer Bolat said the adverse effect of the February 6 twin quakes on exports in January-September hovers around USD 6bn.
