Operating in the glass industry, Duzce Cam will make a USD 250m investment in Bilecik to engage two new float glass production lines and another USD 50m to manufacture photovoltaic glass, according to Kasim Aktas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Duzce Cam Sanayi ve Ticaret AS. “We aim to increase production volume from 550,000 tonnes to 1.1 million tonnes with two new float lines, which will become operational in 2023. We’ll also start manufacturing photovoltaic glass with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes in 2022,” said Aktas. Duzce Cam employs 400 people while it manufactures 1,500 units of float glass per day. The company exports to 25 countries in total. “However, we’ve channeled our production domestically by keeping exports at a minimum level in order to support domestic glass consumers and prevent glass shortages,” said Aktas.
