Minister of Trade Omer Bolat reported that a domestic B2B e-export platform is set to be established and the work is at final stage.
Bolat reported that action has been taken to establish a domestic e-export platform in accordance with the business model in which company-to-company (B2B) wholesale sales of goods, which is observed on a global scale with the example of China’s Alibaba, and that the work is at the final stage.
Minister Bolat attended the opening ceremony of the E-Export summit organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and Central Anatolian Exporters’ Associations with the support of the Ministry of Trade. The summit will last for three days.
Stating that the share of e-commerce in global trade has increased rapidly and the concept of e-export has emerged with cross-border sales, Minister Bolat noted that they already provide support in areas such as promotion, marketing, entry to e-marketplaces for Turkish companies to export more through this channel, but they are working to diversify them.
Reminding that the Ministry of Trade is the public responsible for this area, Bolat said, “We are also preparing. We are enacting the relevant legal regulations. In this regard, we have been structured under the General Directorate of Export in the field of e-export, and this year we have prepared new support modules in consultation with the sector regarding our supports for e-export. Hopefully, we will present them to your benefit in 2024.”
Minister Bolat said the following about the domestic B2B platform and new e-export supports:
“We have created support mechanisms that take into account the promotion and fast delivery issues and take into account the special conditions of each country. We are launching support packages that will enable even SMEs that have never exported to export their products abroad. For this purpose, we have published a guide on e-export supports. We have published a report on target e-export markets for 18 target countries within the scope of the Far Countries Strategy. We will soon launch the All-Turkey e-Export Platform to support e-commerce and e-export. We will carry our exporters to the digital environment. We will realize the national B2B platform, where new generation technologies will be used, together with TOBB, TIM and our Ministry of Trade. We are giving the good news of this here today. A feasibility study has been initiated on this issue. We aim to increase our exports more through e-export channels with the platform suitable for our goal of Turkey’s century.”
