The China-based luxury automotive brand Hongqi plans to invest in Turkey in collaboration with its Turkish distributor, D&D Otomotiv, in the upcoming period, according to Nevzat Kaya, Chairman of D&D Otomotiv.
The company, which sold all Hongqi branded cars it brought to Turkey, has decided to set up a sales and service network in seven regions.
“We are in talks with Hongqi for new investments following the success in sales,” Kaya said.
“We prepare for major investment and cooperation for the future. Automobile assembly plant, battery production plant, and electric motor manufacturing plant are among the investment options,” he added.
Most of the over 120 units of Hongqi’s E-HS9 model, planned to be brought to Turkey in the rest of 2023, have been optioned.
D&D Otomotiv forecasts Hongqi sales to exceed 1,000 units with the new models in 2024.
“E-QM5 and E-HS5 are the Hongqi models that we plan to put on the market in Q3 and Q4 2024, respectively,” Kaya noted.
