China’s smartphone manufacturer Tecno Mobile broke ground on its domestic production facility last week in Istanbul. The company will invest over USD 25m with a goal to take 6-8% market share in 2021. Manufacturing is expected to begin by March. The company entered the market with three models in December 2020. It aims to become a domestic brand with a local partner. Its facility is in Pendik the neighborhood, and is envisioned to be a production hub for the European market.
