Turkey’s chicken meat production rose to 2.2 million tons in 2021, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The figure posted a 5.1% year-on-year increase last year, TurkStat said in a statement.
The country saw 51,301 tons of turkey meat production in 2021, falling 11.9% from the previous year.
The number of slaughtered chickens also climbed 3.6% to 1.2 billion during the same period.
Last year’s poultry production data also revealed that hen egg production fell by 2.5%, totaling at 19.3 billion units over the same period.
