Dr. Caglar Karakurum has been appointed the Middle East, Turkey and Africa Region (META) Medical Affairs Director of Boehringer Ingelheim. Karakurum has worked as Medical Director of Boehringer Ingelheim in Turkey since 2017. With more than 20 years of experience in the health sector. Karakurum graduated from Ege University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He received his specialization degree on respiratory diseases at Izmir’s Dr. Suat Seren Respiratory Diseases and Surgery Training and Research Hospital. After starting work as Medical Manager in the pharmaceuticals industry at Roche Turkey, Karakurum served as Group Medical Manager. He worked as Group Medical Director in Almirall and Novartis between 2011-2014 and resided in Spain and Switzerland, respectively. He continued his career as Middle East, North Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States Countries (MENA-CIS) Region Respiratory Medical Director
at GlaxoSmithKline in 2014.
