Turkish Armed Forces Foundation’s (TSKGV ) subsidiary ASPILSAN Enerji aims to manufacture 21 million battery cells per year with its new lithium-ion battery mass production plant, according to Ferhat Ozsoy the company’s General Manager. Construction work for the facility has begun after the company signed a technology transfer agreement with a South Korean company for battery cell production technology. The facility is expected to increase its localization rate to at least 51% in battery cell manufacturing with the ecosystem to be developed. The facility’s foundation was laid in October 2020 at the Mimarsinan Organized Industrial Zone and will become operational in 2022.
